As an emerging soloist, his rhythmic and sensual voice accompanied by an unmistakable guitar serves as Nea Agostinis signature. The musician who studied in prestigious music schools in the world, including the Modern School of Music (Santiago), the Accademia Del Suono (Milano) and Berklee College of Music in Boston, has further enhanced his natural talent as a musician and composer who had already been bi-culturally nurtured between Italy and Chile, where he grew up and was artistically influenced.
Andres Agostini Cecchi, Neas real name, and his brother Ale have collaborated with excellent musicians as invited guests in their concerts and studio recordings from an early age, it wasnt until 2008 when they decided to start their career with their own compositions. For their third and most recent EP "Te Disuelves" (2016), the brothers surrounded themselves with talented musicians such as Paul Bushnell on bass (Elton John, Phil Collins and Shakira), Roger Manning Junior (Jellyfish) on keyboards (Beck, Imperial Drag, Blink 182), Sean Billings in horn instruments (U2, The Brian Setzer Orchestra, Pitbull) and Brian Lang on bass (Christian Pagán, Trevor Hall, Ricardo Arjona) to record the album that was produced by renowned Argentine producer Sebastian Krys.

Los Pericos / La Vida Bohème / Chicano Batman
Argentina-based Los Pericos is a reggae band formed in 1987. They are currently on tour celebrating their 30th anniversary. They have enjoyed much success, especially throughout Latin America. Known for their reggae and ska sounds, they have a large catalog of hits. They have performed around the world, and this will be their Central Park debut. In 2016, they released their latest album Soundamerica, which has been hailed for its "reinvention and perseverance" by Rolling Stone.
Two-time Latin GRAMMY winners La Vida Bohème exploded onto the US scene with their debut album Nuestra. Lauded by press after showcases at SXSW and LAMC, the band released Será, which earned them their first Latin GRAMMY win for "Best Short Form Music Video." It was around the same time that the band left their native Venezuela and found artistic refuge in Mexico City, where they finished their recently-released third album, La Lucha. The album was co-produced by Eduardo Cabra (Visitante from Calle 13), debuted at #1 on iTunes, and was their first album to appear on the Billboard Latin Sales charts. Upon the release of their new record, which completes an aptly titled trilogy called "Nuestra Será la Lucha," La Vida Bohème plans to tour in Europe, North America, and South America.
Chicano Batman came out of LA, four young men in vintage formalwear, playing songs that blended Brazilian Tropicalia with early 70s psychedelic soul and the romantic pop of bands like Los Angeles Negros. Since forming in 2008, Chicano Batman have released three full-length albums - a self-titled 2009 debut, 2014s Cycles of Existential Rhyme, and the recently-released Freedom is Free. The band has played Coachella and toured with Alabama Shakes and Jack White. In 2017, they will embark on their own national headline tour.
Debi Nova returns with her most ambitious project of her career: Gran Ciudad
Debi Nova, the Costa Rican singer-songwriter nominated for the Latin Grammy presents today Gran Ciudad, her most honest autobiographical work to date.
Gran Ciudad fulfills the singers desire to record an album completely live and allows us to have an intimate look at the personal experiences that in one way or another became ideal stories that were captured in her song lyrics. Under the production of Mario Caldato Jr, the producer of the Beastie Boys and Jack Johnson, among others, Debi gives life to eleven songs that were completely written by herself. The songs are characterized by a sound evolution that was born without the need to fit in a specific genre compared to her previous work, respectively.
"When I had 11 songs chosen, I realized that they effectively told a story: the story of knowing the unknown; what happens when you dare to try new experiences knowing that you can fall and feel alone", the singer confides. Coincidentally, one of those experiences is what gave the album its name.
Debi Nova grew up in Costa Rica and when she was 17 traveled to Los Angeles to fulfill her dreams. There, in the Gran Ciudad[Great City], she approached for the first time music she didnt much know of and managed to close a tour with Sergio Méndes. This was the first milestone in her career followed by many accomplishments that built her essence. It was in Los Angeles where the songs that are in this album were born, and it was in Brazil - another gran ciudad- where they were recorded. "Its important to celebrate what makes us unique, thats why I decided to title the album Gran Ciudad." The album includes two important collaborations: with the renowned percussionist Sheila E. in the song "Dale Play" and with the rapper Illa J on bluesy "Este Amores".
"Illa J and I met many years ago and I decided to invite him to a collaboration with me because he called me various times while I was recording Este Amores - I felt it was a sign. I met Sheila E. in 2015 and was a fan of hers since I discovered her when I was 19. Its an honor for me to have her play the timbales on Dale Play and for her to be in the songs video that was recorded in Bogota, (Colombia) which will be out in April."
Debi Nova releases Dale Play featuring Sheila E, the first single of her upcoming new album
Latin Grammy nominated singer and songwriter Debi Nova debuts "Dale Play" featuring Sheila E, the first official single from her long-awaited album "Gran Ciudad". "Dale Play" featuring Sheila E is a catchy song written by Debi Nova with special participation in the chorus and timbales by renowned percussionist and singer Sheila E.
The music video was recorded in Bogota, Colombia and will be available in April. "Dale Play was born with a chorus that I composed several years ago. After the shooting in Orlando, FL, I felt angry and with the need to channel what I felt by writing something about it. It was then when I wrote the verses. Its a song to raise our voices to, for us to be heard and get carried away with the music.
Im blessed to have one of my idols, Sheila E, accompany me on the timbales and vocals," Debi Nova comments. The single is one of the 11 songs included in "Gran Ciudad". The album was recorded in Rio de Janeiro and Los Angeles under the production of Mario Caldato Jr (producer of the Beastie Boys and Jack Johnson).
The lyric video of "Gran Ciudad" and the video clip for "Hábito" were recorded in the Californian desert and are available now, as part of the new musical project. The album "Gran Ciudad" will be available on March 31st and is now available for pre-order.
Grammy® Winning Chican@ Rock Band QUETZAL announces album release concert for The Eternal Getdown on march 25th at Aratani Theater in Los Angeles
GRAMMY Award® winning band Quetzal celebrates the release of its seventh studio album The Eternal Getdown at the Aratani Theatre in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Special guest performers include Aloe Blacc, Ramón Gutiérrez, Rocío Marrón, César Castro, and Joey De Léon, among other.
For more than 20 years, the East L.A. Chican@ rock group has been fighting oppression with their unique, culturally diverse soundscapes. The Eternal Getdown (available now) is Quetzals second Tradiciones/Traditions series release under Smithsonian Folkways Recordings. Based in artivism (art + activism), feminist ideals, and the relentless belief that making music together has the profound potential for positive social change, The Eternal Getdown is hailing us to make some noise, to speak up, and to stomp forward in a time that is all too critical. Founding band member Quetzal Flores and partner Martha González have been creating music that speaks to the responsibility of bearing witness to ones community and acting as agents of transformation. "Quetzal has long served as a mirror that reflects back affirmations of belonging and thriving in the face of brutality. This album and concert is a call to humanity to re-member the fabric that binds us and nurtures us, community," said Martha.
"JACCC is so excited to present the album release concert for Quetzals The Eternal Getdown," said Alison De La Cruz, Director of Performing Arts & Community Engagement. "This album is musical medicine and fortifies our communities for the current struggles to create meaningful human connections and change in a time of growing fear and isolation. We are excited to welcome not only the 9 members of Quetzal to our stage, but the over 16 guest artists who will truly make this show a night that will be talked about for years to come."
Sergio Echenique @ SXSW
